Built MetaDAO's identity from scratch - one mark designed to become a movement
Context
MetaDAO needed to make an unfamiliar governance model feel culturally immediate. The identity had to be legible at avatar scale, expressive enough to carry a release, and distinctive enough to become a symbol the community could repeat as its own.
Product decision
Treat the logo as a movement rather than a static badge. One arrow breaking out of a circle became the entire grammar: rotate it to create urgency, repeat it to create a crowd, and combine it with red / blue anaglyph imagery to make governance feel kinetic and slightly unstable.
Authorship & cultural reach
I authored the identity, brand book, release visuals, motion direction, and original synth soundtrack independently. The launch films circulated widely on Twitter / X, while the mark continued into MetaDAO's product, social presence, community culture, and later growth. The protocol's subsequent $9.9M raise is included as company context after the identity work.
Logo, identity, brand book, films, and soundtrack created independently.
A single directional form carries static, spatial, social, and motion applications.
The release films were scored with music composed and produced for the identity.
Occurred after the brand work; included as context.
Key decisions
The arrow escapes the circle, turning a minimal symbol into a repeatable gesture of exit, redirection, and collective momentum.
Rotation, edits, and visual repetition were paced with an original synth score, giving the release films one authored audiovisual rhythm rather than adding stock music after the fact.
The logo's clockwise motion creates the feeling of time running out. That behavior made launch films, loops, and social cuts feel native to the brand rather than like a separate campaign skin.
The full book tested the mark across digital interfaces, print, packaging, posters, environmental scale, typography, and color so it could remain recognizable wherever the community encountered it.
One system, authored end to end
The project moved from one irreducible mark to a complete audiovisual launch system without splitting identity, motion, and sound into separate disciplines.
01
I directed the launch films and composed their original synth soundtrack as one system. Rotation, repetition, edit rhythm, and music made the mark feel less like a logo reveal and more like the beginning of a movement.
02
The full system is restored here in sequence: symbol, motion behavior, custom logotype, creative direction, physical applications, digital language, typography, color, and release signature.
03
Anaglyph depth, institutional architecture, mass participation, and surreal cultural artifacts gave the protocol a visual world beyond familiar crypto tropes.

The mark remains recognizable when repeated as a crowd, isolated as a signal, or enlarged until it becomes architecture.
